Starting from today, May 18, on weekdays the 9th and 12th grade students may use “Rīgas satiksme” public transport free of charge
Starting from today, May 18 until the end of the school year the 9th and 12th grade students who have to go to consultations and examinations, on weekdays may use trams, trolleybuses and busses free of charge without registering the trip. The student must carry a valid Student card to prove the free use of the public transport to the controllers.
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that the interim administration of the Riga City Council made a decision on May 13 for the duration of the emergency situation, allowing the 9th and 12th grade students who have to go to consultations and examinations, to use the public transport free of charge on weekdays, from May 18 until the end of the school year, without registering the trip, by presenting a valid Student card to the controller.
During the use of the public transport the nose and the mouth must be covered with a scarf, respirator or mask. Such precautionary measures are imposed to protect other people and to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
